Hi, I've only heard of a Raleigh Firebird which is more of a traditional bike. Have you any pics? Could it be a missed placed decal?

I had a Yamaha SS50 which they had to change the name to FS1E after Honda threatened them with legal action for Trademark infringement on the Honda SS50. My mate also had a Green Garelli Tiger Cross Special. The same guy had been the first of the gang to get a Chopper. A MK1 Horizon Blue in Oct 1971. Those were the days!

I think this might be a "Coaster" which is a copy, or a MK3 with Coaster parts. The experts on here will be able to confirm.
See below - I meant to type "Cruiser" but somehow the wrong word got in my head. Coaster is a type of Raleigh Chopper without 3 gears.

Hi there, I imagine it's a classic story. My parents move house and discover my old Raleigh Chopper behind junk in the garage. It is looking quite sorry for itself, but it's been inside, and it is all complete. I would now like to restore it to its former glory for my own children. I wouldn't say that classic bike restoration is a particular area of skill for me - but I do think it might be fun to do it myself. Hoping I might find some friendly experts on here to help me along the way. Hi, unless it is completely knackered it might be better to do a sympathetic restoration. Original untouched has become the most desired.

Hello and welcome. I would try eBay though the price of front tyres has gone up a lot lately as the mould for repro fronts is apparently damaged with no news if it is to be repaired.

Hi all (from not so sunny Middlesbrough). Just acquired a mk2 chopper frame and plan to fully restore it......first I've got to figure out how to get the remains of the old sissy bar out though! Know absolutely nothing about restorations but have an engineering background so thats a start! Hope to pick the brains of all you guru's out there.... Hi, if penetrating oil fails and you are going to repaint it try a bit of localised heat on the frame tubes with a blow torch. Wooden block in the sissy bar hoop and give the wood an upward smack with a hammer. If the hoop has been removed and you're just left with stubs sticking out. Still apply the penetrating oil and/or heat and use stilsons (plumbers wrench) to twist it out. If totally snapped off inside then drill out. Have you any pics?
