Hi I've just got myself my first Raleigh chopper, a mk2 1973 fizzy yellow er most of one that is. It's in bits and although the frame and forks have already been blasted and painted very well, the rest of the bike looks like it has been pulled out of a canal. I have my work cut out for me that's for sure!

Good luck. Are you going to rechrome or replace?

No choice, I can see daylight through some of the parts they are that rotten, both mudguards, and front wheel rim, you get the idea. Just taken the rear hub to bits because it it was seized and the pin that the toggle screws into has perished, along with all the bearings and pawl springs. I only found this out after leaving the bits in acid overnight so I think I have been thrown in the deep end, but my motorcycle renovation experience will help me greatly I recon.

Blimey - you have got your work cut out. I've restored a few cars so that has helped me no end.
