Hello, new to the club,so forgive me if I am not up to speed.A little about me,when I was 10 my Dad surprised me with a brand new yellow mk1 for Christmas,I hadn’t asked for it but my dad had a keen eye for what was cool at the time. Many years on the bike was relegated to the shed and I let it go to part pay a mechanic who had done work on my car.Big regret on my part years later….Idiot !!! Two years ago I decided I should do something about this regret and bought another mk1 via gumtree. The bike was not perfect, but the price was good and as I am based in a special effects workshop I have all the kit and colleagues around me to be able to restore in my lunchtimes etc. The bike had previously been powder coated and finished in apple green which never sat right with me,so having done all I could to make it tip top,me and my workmate decided to strip it down and remove offensive powder coat, that’s been a complete success and now I can see the frame no. stamped on the rear wheel bracket but I am having trouble try to decipher it to establish the frames date. Here’s where I need help, the no.is 1062017 and that’s all I have !! I have opted for my fave colour and in the new year she will be a brilliant orange, can’t wait !!!! Happy new year to all and sorry for being a bit long winded xt

Hi, welcome to the site. My original Horizon Blue Chopper was a combined Christmas and birthday present for my 11th birthday. From what information I have seen on this site by others it suggests it is an early 1971 model because the first two digits are 10.
