Hi Everyone. I have a Mark 1 Orange Chopper that I had when I was a child and I'm hoping to restore myself. I'm hoping I can pick your brains and maybe even contribute something useful back. Cheers

Hi Steve & welcome. Look forward to seeing pics of your mk1. What condition is it in, good enough to clean up & leave original? Must be great to have the actual Chopper you rode as a child, I've got one exactly the same as the one I received for Christmas when I was eight, but I wish I still had my childhood bike. Neil.

Hi Neil It's in bits at the moment and has been for quite a few years. I had a go at spraying it black when I was a kid and the prismatic was the one to have . With a few replacement parts such as tyres, tubes and bearings I reckon it would be solid enough to use but I really want it to look good. Especially the frame and forks. The chromework is passable and the seat is a bit worn but still in one piece, so I could probably get away with those. I'll see how I feel as it goes along. I was going to strip and repaint it myself but over the last couple of weeks trying to find an exact match for the colour, I am leaning more towards getting it done professionally. We'll see though. I'm a lot better at spraying now than I was back in the 70's.
