Essex, there's a couple of us recently got the Chopper bug, so we'll be cruising Southend seafront when the weather picks up. Hoping to get out and meet a few more essex enthusiasts. Are there any national meetings happening this year?

Hello And Welcome to this Chopper Friendly Community. If you're new to the site then please introduce yourself to us here! For best viewing of this forum press the f11 (full screen) key. And to return back to normal view press f11 again on your keyboard. Greetings from Greece! The site is wonderful, with people dedicated to a bike already part of the British Bicycle History ,ranking in the highest places. Raleigh Chopper was part of our childhood stories and now returned to the family to stay.. Work has to be done (1975 2+3), but I believe we have the best (UK) friends for support. Very happy to be here with all of you.

Hiya Joined today mainly because I need info and possible parts outlets. I've had my Mk1 Raleigh Chopper for 42 yrs and since stripping it into its many parts to paint it as a 12 yr old it has remained in my fathers garage until his passing in 2014. I found most of it amongst the hoards of motorcycle parts, magazines, engineering tools and paraphernalia that filled the garage to the point where you could basically open the side door, take one step in and that's as far as anyone could go. I'm missing the seat. It's a 1970 August model according to the hub markings on the rear wheel. Not sure about the frame numbers as they are slightly worn. I'm guessing it's a tall frame version But not 100% how to go about measuring for that or what the measuments should be. Anyways I'm all ears and defiantly in the market for a Mk1 seat or diagrams to manufacture my own which we have the tools for. All help Great fully appreciated. Skip

Hi skip. Good luck with the seat. If you manage to manufacture something and are willing, I'd love a chopper seat that looks like a real chopper seat to fit a mark 3. Could be some business in that!

Hello, I just joined this forum to figure out what to do with the Chopper MK2 I have here in central Massachusetts USA. It has sat for decades in a garage and is in need of total restoration. I am an avid ebay seller, but thought I'd check in here for advice to see if I should part it out or sell it whole. I am obviously looking for maximum return :-) It is mostly original. This bike saw significant use in its heydey, but now the decals are peeling off and the front tire is an old replacement, tires are cracking from age, missing the indicator emblem on the shifter, but overall it is still charming, dust-covered and battle-weary and retains most original parts. I'm not a bicycle expert. What to do, part out or sell whole? Thoughts? Referrals, advice?

Probably best to sell complete, as nice as it is to part out you will end up with a number of unsellable parts, got any pics?

Looks a tidy bike, I'm sure if you put it on eBay it would do quite well
