Welcome on board. Start a thread in our bikes or down the shed bit. And post a pic of your new toy. Some mk3 fans on here, so you'll be fine. Enjoy. :-)

Greetings from New Brunswick, Canada.
I was a bit young, only 3, when the Fastback 100 came along. I road CCM (Canadian made) bikes. Still do some, but recently have taken an interest in the Eaton's high rise, and came here to learn more.
I may have some questions at some point, but as a forum admin myself on a cast iron cookware collector site, I am pretty good at using the search feature to avoid asking the same questions that have been answered a thousand times before. Just taking a quick look around, it seems there is quite a bit of material to sort through.
Cheers, Chris

Hi Folks, I'm Dunk, I'm 44 and live near Reading in the UK. I had a Purple Mk2 in the early '80s which I bought off of a school mate. And to be honest I can't remember what ever happened to it... After a long gap, I've recently got back into cycling again ( road cycling ) and whilst 'cruising' eBay I started looking at the old Choppers , then I started to thinking I should try and buy a Purple Mk2 just like the one I had around 30 years ago. After a bit of patience I finally found one which suited my budget and was in rideable condition. I'm now trying source various parts to do a light restoration on the bike. The frame tells me it was made in July '78. And I'm now trying to source a rear wheel from '78 as the one currently on the bike is from a MK3.. Whilst this works great , it's not what I want , I really want to try and make the bike as original to '78 as I can. I was fortunate to find an absolutely perfect condition original MK2 seat ( which cost me half as much as I paid for the bike in the first place! ) Again the seat currently fitted is in near on perfect condition and looks great, but I'm doubtful it's an original Raleigh item? Here's a picture of the bike after I gave it a good clean and polished up various parts. I bought it last week off of eBay for £205, which considering how it looks now, wasn't too bad ? Hopefully I'll learn lots from all you Folks!! I'll add more photos once all my new parts have arrived and once I've finished the restoration. As always, I'll be interested in what you guys and gals think of the price I paid in terms of condition etc etc.. Cheers, Dunk.

Hi. Mal from Scotland here. I haven't got a chopper yet but i'm on the lookout for one. I currently own a Upside Down Chopper Framed Bike and i'm on the forum there. I had a chopper briefly as a kid that I got from a friend after it had been in an accident with a view to fixing it up, but it was beyond my limited skills! Been looking for a chopper for a while but they're very expensive! Any advice on getting my hands on one at a decent price would be appreciated. Mark 3 worth a look? Look forward to spending time on this cool forum.
