Hello all. I think most of us in the 50ish age group have fond memories of the Raleigh Chopper. I have just pre ordered the limited edition 'mod' chopper which has prompted my membership of the forum. I admit a slight disappointment on originality aspects of the bike but nevertheless very excited to own a chopper once again. One question if I may, is the 'mod' chopper considered to be a mk3 model?

We can just call it the mk3.2015.
Good luck with it, hopefully it may lead you to a mk1 or 2

Thankyou for the welcome. I'm still awaiting delivery of the mod chopper, which should be at the end of October. I've been like a child waiting for Christmas.

I THINK I WOULD RATHER GO FOR THE UPSIDE DOWN INSIDE OUT BIKE MYSELF DONT YOU AGREE GINGER RIDER Well. Mk3 with a mk2 seat is a great alternative to the so called "proper Chopper" specially price.

Mk3's are quite nice to ride to be honest. I like them, they're not too precious to modify if you want to and make your own. Also they've introduced a lot of new people to the pleasures of chopper, don't knock them.

I agree. Mk3s are a genuine Raleigh Chopper as far as i'm concerned. They are certainly good to ride.

Maybe, that's a bit of a subjective opinion. But to be honest I don't think it's relevant to the mk3 chopper. People who buy a new beetle or fiat 500 are unlikely to be wowed into going out and buying a classic original version, they're not bought by the same target market. The mk3 Chopper rekindles peoples interest in original choppers, maybe they'll go out and buy an original, maybe they wont, but it keeps them in the public eye. Many times I've had people come up and talk to me about choppers when they've seen me or my daughter out on our mk3's.
